Yea, I belong to the Escambia River Gun Club and really enjoy the setup they have out there but always wanted to make a 300+ yard shot that can't be done there.

Lookin forward to slinging a few rounds at steel with the M1 and AR Saturday at this place.
Hoping to hit some steel and not embarrass myself too badly with a bunch of misses.

Hey Tony, Gary once made a 300 yd shot at the range, 150 down, 150 back as the 50 cal round rebounded off steel and made it's way back to my leg.
Standing at the back bench between 2 other people and I get hit, typical luck.

    Ha! I get it:
    150 down on range 3 or 4
+150 back to the shooting line =
    ---------
    300.

Yea, I remember Sheldon brought a thick steel vessel cap and we'd shoot at that thing until it cracked up.

Very satisfying to hear that loud THWACKKK! when the bullet struck it.
Glad you didn't get badly injured!

Went to this event last Saturday. The Savage demo rep was a really awesome guy to talk to. The facility out there (K&M) is REALLY nice in the variety of setups you can shoot into. I'd have to shoot a whole lot more than I do now to justify the membership and the drive from Shalimar.

But even as a reloader, that's a double edge sword right now.
