Aluminum. I have one just like it. As Welldoya said, they were a Walmart exclusive back in the day. Love mine. Will never be sold. GLWS nice 10/22.

I guess back when they were hardcoat anodized instead of polycoat like now. Much nicer finish. Aluminum trigger housing is nicer than the plastic ones now also. Less flex = better trigger feel.
