In my years of using a rock chucker, I've always hated how it drops primers. Is there a solution to keep all the primers falling to the back of the team instead of out the front? I don't prime on the press, so the hole in the front is completely unnecessary for me. Just trying to figure out a way to keep from having to shop vac my floors every time I process brass in the house. I'm the garage, no big deal, inside the little bastards bounce all over the place and end up under furniture

I’ve tried putting a straw in the slot and I’ve molded some silicone in an effort to
Make a drop tube. Neither worked very well.

I knew a guy who had access to a lathe and he bored a hole through the ram from bottom to the slot. That worked pretty well. Don’t know how it effected longevity or rigidity of the ram.

Here is a link to a file for an item if you know someone with a 3D printer.

These guys make a living selling modifications for all kinds of presses. They have a primer catcher upgrade.

    Good luck,
    Dave

works fairly good on my old Lyman spar-t.
Not perfect but it catches most of them.

Adding the rolled piece of sandpaper pushed the catch tray against the stem. A piece of cardboard is also very handy.

I don't have a problem with the catcher in the rear catching primers, I have a problem with every third or fourth primer popping out the front of the ram. Is there a plug that works for that?

Check to make sure it’s not blocked. I have maybe 3 out of a hundred that fall out of the tray.

I use one like mentioned from primercatchers...think I got mine on eBay. Primers run through a clear tube to a big catch box on the floor. It came with a block to put in the front so all primers go outta the back. Press is much cleaner too.

Yeah, I found one on eBay that has the front cover. Probably gonna end up ordering it.
