    Blast shield?
    I didn't put anything in it but I did drill some holes on the top of the forend because the factory synthetic had some triangles in it for venting. I may need to enlarge them just a hair as I smelled gas pretty strong a few times today.

    I was wondering if it would "cook" the wood.

    We had talked about that and I didn't address it. I'll pull the forend off and see what it looks like. I may do something now just because lol
