I just picked up an antique (1880’s) Remington Model 5, .41 caliber, double barrel derringer. It’s a really cool little pistol. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone doing a restore? It’s in pretty decent shape, action works, and looks to function fine. I can post pics later.

The purists will always tell you not to restore antique guns or you will significantly reduce their value. That said, it's your gun and if you want it to be pretty, go for it! If it's blue you can always touch it up with some cold blue. If it's nickel you're going to have to get a professional involved and be prepared to spend some cash. Heavily pitted nickeled guns are hard to return to their original glory.

Pretty cool little gun. Fires the top barrel first, then the bottom. .41 short. Does anyone on this forum collect these? It looks like it functions fine.
