    Got myself a Sheridan case gauge. I am only reloading for my CVA single shot. The single shot guns are great in that you can simply take your bbl off your action,push in the extractor,and use YOUR chamber as a case check gauge.
    If I reloaded for any other action,ESPECIALLY a AR,as case gauge would be mandentory.
    A simple plunk will say it all. Simple,viewable,you can easily b tweak your brass. ---- SAWMAN
    ADDED: Plunk in brass,lay a streight edge across the top. Done.

    The Hornady 300gr XTP would be a good choice ror the bigger hogs if driven at the higher speeds. No deer.
    Remember,the Hornady line of XTP's were designed for handguns and their velocity produced.
    Your sitting a stand looking for hogs,and one of the huge area deer steps out. On the shoulder will waste a bunch of meat.
    Then there is the trajectory thing. Nope . . . NOT FOR ME . . NOT MY APPLICATION. ---- SAWMAN

    My gun being a single shot,I will try a bunch of different bullets at a wide variety of speeds,using several different powders including Trail Boss.
    While I will be eager to share my results,you MUST remember the inherent difference between a single,auto,and even a bolt gun.
    Check your application vs mine,extremely carefully. If you need any more info from me,I will be most happy to pass it along to you. ---- SAWMAN

    I'm wondering if the 300gr xtp being designed for 460 s&w/454 casual velocities may hold up depending on being a little further out ?

    Interesting that CFEBLK looks good. I have some 4227 if you can't find any. Got a rabbit running Tuesday.

    I shot some of them .452" Hornady XTP MAGNUM out of my 16" 454Casull LSI/Rossi lever gun.
    They would shoot thru a 16" sweet bay tree or three press treated 6X6's. I could not stop them with milk jugs.
    I have several different appropriate powders on the shelf. - -> 296,H110,CFE,CFEBLK,and one of the 4427's. IIRC I also have an Accurate brand the could be useable.
    Will definately do some TRAIL BOSS testing also. I believe my start will be about 15grs. ---- SAWMAN

    I only have one 9oz container of TB left. I could possibly find some here(semi-locally).
    Glad that I picked up them 400 Hornady 185's also. Will use those for sight in,load developement,and will not be affraid to shoot them to save my more expensive,limited supply bullets. ----- SAWMAN

    Reserching the/some appropriate powders for reloading the 450B,I came up with these - ->
    * AAC-9
    * LIL' GUN
    * ENFORCER
    *W-296
    * H110
    * IMR4227
    * VV-N120
    * AAC-1680
    * ACCURATE 4100
    * ACCURATE 5744
    * CFEBLK
    * H4198
    * ALLIANT 2400
    * ACCURATE NO. 11 FS (SUBS ONLY)
    * ACCURATE NO.2 (SUBS ONLY)
    * TRAIL BOSS (MAINLY SUBS BUT YOU SNEEK UP TO JUST OVER SUPER)
    I have about 7 of these on the shelf. My "go to" will most likely be TRAIL BOSS,CFEBLK,5744,and mainly LIL'GUN.
    I printed out the loads for these. Including bullets and primers. I will freely give out starting charges ONLY.
    For my purposes I will use CCI450 ONLY. ---- SAWMAN
