Recommended gunsmith for shortening and re-threading barrels?

The NFA saga continues! I have decided that I want an SBR, and I am building a clone of the Colt 9mm SMG. I already have a 9mm AR with all the aesthetic bits and it has great barrel. Does anyone have a recommended smith in town that can cut it down and re-thread the barrel, or any experiences with the places you mail your barrel to? I've determined it should be cheaper to cut down this nice barrel rather than buy an equally nice shorter barrel.

Oh, should of added that I am in Pensacola, and a smith I could drive to would be preferred.

JJ, one shot on this forum, would be my recommendation. He is just north of Jay.

He has threaded numerous barrels for me and cut down a couple. Search and you can easily find his number on the forum, call him....do not text or send conversation/PM if you want a reliable response.

$62.50 including shipping both ways to shorten and thread a barrel ? That’s an incredible price , I’ve never heard of getting that great of a deal. What was the turnaround time till you got it back?

JJ just burned mine off with a acetylene torch then painted the edges with a Magic Marker. ---- SAWMAN

It was a Savage .17HMR. Had it threaded for a suppressor. About 5 years ago. Did not include a thread protector.

Sorry, l don't remember the turn around time, but sure it was within a reasonable time or l would have remembered. Example: Bought wife a golf cart from Kool Karts in Pensacola for mothers day. Had some sort of electrical problem so l took it back for warrenty work. Tomorrow it will be five (5) weeks that they have had it. No phone call, text, smoke signals, nothing. If your in the mkt for a golf cart, shop wisely.
