Have anyone seen one of this before? I am trying to find information on it and can't find much.
All I know is a Sig SP2009 with manual safety.

The Sig Sauer SP2009 belongs to the Pro series (SIG Pro) and is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. They were the first polymer-framed handgun from either company and one of the first pistols, that featured a universal built-in accessory rail and interchangeable grips. The Sig Sauer SP 2009 was introduced in 1999. The Sig Sauer SP2009 is short recoil operated, locked breech pistol, with a polymer frame and detachable grip panels. The overall design is slightly different from earlier Sig Sauer pistols such as P220 or P226, as there is no separate dis-assembly lever on the frame and the slide release lever looks quite different. It has a double-action (DA/SA) trigger. Came with a 15-rd. magazine. Some say it is one of the most reliable pistols out there regardless of its age. It was produced up to 2005. Value-wise, in really good condition (like new), they are between $400-$450. Of course, that depends on the market and interested buyers.

Thank for the reply but I am aware of the Sig Pro history. I purchased my first SP2340 in 357sig back in 1998. And I have most of the SP series pistols. I guess my question really is what's the origen of that particular SP2009 with the safety? I have never seen a SP2009 with safety until now. I purchased it just because I thought it was a rare piece but can't find any accurate information about it.

I have been looking at several pics of the SP2009 and the SP2022. I see the SP2022 without the slide safety. I have seen pics of the SP2009 with and without the slide safety. It may be that the earlier SP2009s had the slide safety and later ones did not since the SP2022 does not have it. That is my thought on it.
