Took x39 to range, after dropping it out of the shooting house..... Was 2 inches high at 100. Click click click..... Back on target. All mounts check out. Whew. Shot 100 rds of Steelcase. Gtg.
Shot the 196gr sub. 6 inch low at 50. 0 set for 154gr @ 100. Good accuracy. No idea on the fps.

What kind of scope is that that shifted that much inside the scope?! At least had that happened on a battlefield you'd still been on target good enough. Any muzzle flashes with the subsonic?

Highly recommend the AR mag well swap and Duramags. They have anti tilt followers and don’t nose dive like ruger mags

How's the mag release?? Also did it smooth up the action?
Mags drop out like on an AR. Quick reloads. If you want to sand or dremel the stock to have a full button you can. I have no problem releasing the mag the way it is. The action is smooth and loads easy but I buffed the bolt and a little bit of the receiver with a dremel and polish bit. whatever was catching my fingernail. Its Ruger's budget rifle so they leave alot of machining marks that cause the the bolt to chatter cycling. Easy fix, the buyer can finish it. Just wont mess with the bolt face and lugs or headspace issues might happen

Nikon, that they don't build anymore, dammit. Did not notice any flash, have linear comp on it.

100yds Wolf 122gr steel cased. Last 20 rds I brought. Shot them in about 3 minutes time? No cool down. Wanted to see how it shoots hot. Won’t win a competition but good for Minute Of Meat and Minute Of Zombie. Duramags in 7.62x39 are top notch

Yep, it's impressive what "crap steel case" can do out if one of these. Looking forward to see how it does on deer. Really--> looking forward to see what Daezee can do with handloads. The 123gr bullets shoot about 3 inches higher than the 154gr. Would like to see what a even lighter bullet would do. Wish I could get my hands on some of the poly bullets.

*** years ago they made a 30-30 round that had a poly sleeve that held a 223 bullet, real screeching rounds.

I believe the wolf and Tula ammo have boat tail bullets so yeah they'll fly and overlooked by many as trash. x39 and 30-30 ballistics are very similiar so Im guessing you'll drop them no problemo with 154 gr sp. Looking forward to your report on how they work on deer. This Ruger Commie Ranch bolt rifle is becoming one of my favorites if not favorite because it shoots crap steel case well. In today's world I'd rather have tons of utility ammo than 1 1/2 boxes left of match grade stuff. I can miss more lol

Finally got a deer with the Ranch 7.62x39. 7 point 135lbs. 70 yard shot, following a trail 5 minutes behind a doe. First pic is the entry, second is the exit. Very impressed with the Hornady .310 123gr. spire point results. He was rutted up bad very smelly, he even had a gouge hole in his head behind his left base from fighting.

And she knocked the new off it. Small 6pt. 154gr steel case sp. POA was a little off. Tracked it down, about 50 yards.

is that the one you let walk?
Yep, crab claw buck. I had messaged her yesterday and told her I had saved her one, and she cant get one from her porch, lol. My bride loves for her sister to go with us. In the scramble to get potatoes I forgot the single shot 30-30 she normally uses. Her first deer in 35 years. She was like a kid. Good times.
