Congrats on the deer for her! That look is priceless. You can find one on Gunbroker and they can be pricey but you have to watch everyday. I saw some about a month ago on there from a dealer who had 3 in stock for $479.00. They went fast. They also have other calibers including the Grendel right now.

And, in the FWIW department, my tests on CHF 4140 steel bbls in 300 Blackout showed such bbls last around 500 rounds more than plain 4140 does. A 7.62x39 ought to be similar.

I have noticed the action is less hitchy and the mag is going in easier after +200 rds. Plus the loading, unloading associated with hunting. Been thinking about putting the day/night sightmark wraith on it. ( no ir light on it, during deer season) just not enough rail for the scope, battery and---> ir light after February 10. Also no quick follow up like my .223 AR. (Yotes)

I was just thinking I could put a red dot on for close shots. Maybe an ir light can fit there too. On the other side that is to not affect the extraction. I don’t know. I’m a Bubba just brainstorming lol

Looks like a good idea. The battery has an offset mount. May fit. I'm still pondering on it.
What I should do is swap the nikon 12x off and put the 3x9 Leupold on it. Then swap the 12x bdc over to my win xpr 308. Never use the 12x for hunting on the rarr always set it for 6x but the 308 is a longer range rifle.

Ruger Ranch 7.62x39 strikes again. Saturday morning about 10am 80 yard shot bullet passed through again. deer went about 50yards. No regrets with this setup except maybe I took to long to get it, Lol
    what bullet did you use?

.310 123 grain Hornady spire point, I believe the load is 27 grains of IMR3031. Entry and exit same as the other buck I posted. The bullet is performing perfectly, can't ask for more with little to no recoil.

My 123gr polymer tipped .310" diameter "2nds" arrived from Midway. Bought 300. Other than a few having stains on the jacket so they aren't as shiny, they look like Hornady 123gr SST bullets. Same looking red tip. After I'm done testing some cast 7.62x39 bullets for a friend, I'll play with these 2nds. Midway sold out of them quickly.
