Question about the NFA process

Hi guys. I've been playing with the idea of converting my shotgun into an SBS so I can enjoy it as a range toy and not worry about going to jail for enjoying it. What's the process like? Has anyone else converted their shotgun to an SBS and have any tips from their experience? Never owned an NFA iten before so I'm going into this completely new.

Fill out a form1 send in $200, wait for it to be approved, then break out the hacksaw

I converted my Mav. 88 and put a 14.5" shockwave barrel and tube on. I filled out a form 1 and the process took, about two and a half weeks. It was definitely a lot shorter wait period than getting a suppressor.

My .02. Buy a shockwave, put the brace on it and go play. Then when ya get bored with it sell it. Less paperwork, easier to turn over ymmv

Lots of good info, thanks guys. And trust me Rebel, definitely considered that. As far as I can tell though, a shockwave double with external hammers doesnt exist on the market yet!
