What’s some of y’all’s thoughts on this subject I hear alot of mixed things and I’d like to hear some of y’all’s. I’ve run a few here and there but some are just to far out there. If y’all are like me and have been watching and waiting for the radian afterburner and ramjet combo to drop its officially in stock but probably not for long. Claims 44% recoil reduction. But the price tag is hefty for sure.

I have an agency arms comp one one of my 19's its louder for sure, but I feel like it shoots similar to my 17's now - not a whole lot of difference for me. (Disclaimer - Im not a great shooter)

Nice I used a agency once didn’t really run very well on 115 grain ammo with oem recoil setup so had to run a zev 11lb recoil spring. I’ve tried a zev, couple cheap ones, but the killer innovations one I’ve had for awhile has done great. Though it makes the 19 shoot boringly flat it’s not a challenge anymore after practicing without it for so long.

Wouldn't a stouter spring do the same??
Not as the comps are usually meant to push the gases in a upward direction causing the Muzzle to stay down unlike a spring as it would make the chambering of a round push your muzzle down as it slides back a lot harder.

With the way technology has come so far on compensators, ammunition, firearms themselves. They claim to be really good and I own some really good barrels and comps that are a little bit cheaper. I’m wanting to see some real test done. I had a 19 ported slide and ported barrel it actually worked quite well but not as good as my threaded barrel and compensator.

Ok. Makes sense. Learning more stuff everyday! Muzzle down, back on target!

You wouldn’t believe this 34 zev slide and zev comp( almost complete zev everything), runs 115 grain like it’s nothing seriously flat and with an empty mag weighs 1lb 3.6oz. The muzzle flip being down is great for follow up shots.

I'm a big fan of comps. EDC has a Suarez Street fighter comp mounted. Gun I take to work has a Griffin micro comp on it. Its all about less felt recoil for me. Arthritis creeping into my thumbs... the Suarez is super good on a small gun fyi. IMG_20220718_160017_02.jpg IMG_20220718_160017_01.jpg

To be quite honest I have adapted to the kick my handguns have at close range and don’t see the necessity of a compenator at defensive ranges
    Just mho

Sadly I will not get to test it until I get back from vacation.

I have one with a comp and I don't really think it makes much of a difference for me. :)

If someone is going to carry say a 17 why not go 45 with this little snub nose comp making it the same length but now instead it’s compensated. I personally like how it’s short as it is. And shot to shot compensators work wonders especially if your like me and want to put up a target with a single hole.

I went a different direction and installed a double captured stainless steel spring and guide rod on both my G19s (gen 4 and 5). Adds just enough weight to the muzzle to reduce recoil flip and help me get back on target.

I don’t usually use one I usually liked to run my threaded barrel just for the extra length and the ability to suppress it later. Captured guide rods are cool and work but mostly it’s the fact the springs are cheaper, easier to pull apart to tune the spring weight for gun to ammo load grain, mostly only run one when it’s necessary. For more weight on the muzzle end yes tungsten rod will give you a little bit but nothing super crazy on weight.

It’s actually unfairly flat pushed it out to 25 yards after and put my best grouping up at that distance. This is not my 25 yard target lol I won’t share that it wasn’t amazing but was definitely in 6 inches
