Since this is the Gulf Coast, how important is swimming to your physical training regime?

Hell no. Over 24 lethal Florida gator attacks in the last 40-50 years, that they know of. Gators aren't the only killers in the river here, either

I don't specifically do swim training but I'm a fish when the Gulf is 70°+, only yak on fresh water. I'm more concerned with gators than sharks.

How many Flesh Eating Bacteria-cases a year ,
Yep. Front page of Press Gazette this past summer said there's 2 million gallons of shit water dumped into the Blackwater River (and therefore the bay, the pass, and the Gulf beaches) every day, just from the Milton poo factory. Now imagine everybody on septic tanks all up and down Pond Creek and everybody else up Escambia River, too

Yes that's a full size Zippo lighter next to her. She was longer than a pack of 100's when I rotated home.

As for sharks, I was standing in waist deep water at Tyndall Beach, relieving my bladder. Beautiful crystal clear water, as a wave came in, I see a shark swimming parallel to the beach in said wave. Probably a 4 footer and only 6 feet away from me.

Finish my nature call and stayed on the beach the rest of the day......
