This is the area I am going to try to hunt for the first time. Where would you hunt it? Green is the two access points and red lines are the access roads (by foot only). Private is marked and Perdido River marked by water. I will be on foot and have other spots too but I was interested in this area. Tall pines and thick cover near open-ish areas. Going in blind and I have an idea of what I think but just curious if others opinions. Copy the pic and drop a dot or something on the map if you want as well

I drew a quota permit and hunted there a few years ago. Crazy amount of tracks on the beach. Set up on a good rub once but never saw a deer.

I couldn't stand not to scout it out before hand, can you ride a bicycle in there?

Is there a power line cut in there? I have always had good luck over the years hunting powerline cuts, particularly in between bedding areas and water source. Good luck!

There is a powerline I’ve hunted before and seen some deer but nothing legal. Wanting to try a new spot that looks a little harder to hunt

No luck. Sat till 9 and decided to checkout another spot. Got stuck turning around on a small road. What’s the point of 4x4 if only the tires off the ground spin? Took 3 hours to get someone to help me out.

I’ve put winches on the last 5 or 6 hunting vehicles I’ve owned over the years and keep several snatch blocks with me as well to be able to pull sideways or backwards if necessary. Keep extra straps and a length of chain too and a shovel. Been thinking about investing in a set of recovery boards. Sometimes I’m in an area without cell service so it pays to be prepared.

I’ve built the winch mounts on the last three hunting vehicles I’ve had, might post some pics of them later.

Yeah this is my daily driver and not a hunting truck per se so I have not invested much in the way of off-roading. I need to get a truck or jeep that I can take hunting exclusively. One day lol

Today would have been better if I had prepared properly so totally self inflicted misery that was very avoidable. Especially since I was going somewhere I’ve never been near a river in a “water management area”.

Don't feel too bad it happens. Does yours have the locking differential?? My F150 does 2018. At least you did not do what I did....NOT A 4X4

It apparently does not have a locker front or rear. It’s just an open diff or something. I never knew to check that when I bought it because I thought all 4x4 had a locker in 4Lo. I know now. It’s a 2006
