I've been a member for a while and do a good bit of lurking. I like long range shooting but I'm not a fanatic. I do my own reloading and gunsmithing for rifles and pistols and have for a whole lot of years. Recently I decided to try an *80**%* build for an AR 45. Waiting on "Joebob" to send me my last piece. Anyone here done a 45 AR build? I'm sure that I will have a question or 3. One that comes to mind is about mags. Which ones will actually work. I understand that I need large frame mags, but since I don't have a Glock 45 I'm not up on which mags will and will not work well.

Welcome. You need to at least try a Kriss Vector in 45, using a Glock 21 mag with a Kriss brand extension to make it a 30 rounder. I had one as an SBR. Absolutely loved it. But I moved on to 9mm, which is cheaper, lighter weight and therefore more fun. The Vectors are reliable. I've heard way too many bad things about 45 caliber AR's, especially the Just Right carbines. Maybe consider a Micro Roni type set up, with a bone stock Glock inside the chassis for reliability but also giving you more options. So much more out there than just AR's

Thanks for the information Raven. Much appreciated. I'll check into the Kriss extensions. A bit too late to change horses at this point though. All the parts are in the barn. I'll let you know how it goes though.
