That's the spec for M118LR in LC Brass using Ball Powder.
I know the M-80 was loaded with a ball powder, The old LC Match was loaded with a case full of an extruded powder.
After Alliance had the contract it was rumored that they used their RL-15 or a blend that was also temperature sensitive, worked ok in bolt guns, but was really hard on M-14's brought back into service with daily temperatures in the 110+ *

I can only report upon the findings of MK 262:
Yet M118LR,MK 316, and Mk 262 all faced the same problems.

I thought the targeted speed for M118LR was 2600 with 175gr

I run 42 gr of RL-15 in my replicas from my 26" and get 2612 Radar
I wouldn't run RL-15 in my M1A...unless that is what is in a GMM 168...4064 sure works good

There does come a time when one must ask what your attempting to replicate?

Now the Navy has 3 variants of the M14. The M14, M14NM, and finally the M25. The Army has numerous variants including the M14, M14NM,X21NM, M21, and other variations rebuilt under SEI. All of these variants used different ammunition at different times dependent upon year, firearm modification, and ammunition available to be issued. Todays Army DM's typically are issued M852 with thier SEI Modified M14's, yesteryears M21/M14NM/M25 SNIPERS where issued M118LR & MK316. What are you attempting to replicate in which firearm at what time????????

I guess you missed the first sentence...here it is again sir, M118LR. I use this in a bolt gun only, not my M1A.

Now I have a question sir, if the case head is stamped LC LR and a year, isn't it the same no mater which of those firearms you mentioned?

Dependent upon the year the propellant, primer, and projectile have changed or been superseded with further modification. Also the M40 USMC likewise the Army M24 have received modifications along the years.
