Decided I would hunt this morning for the first time this year...season closes next weekend I think.

Yesterday after noon I check the zero on a custom rig I made for hunting to see if I could get it bloodied.

Think I may have pushed it...GTG

Got in the stand 6:45ish temp was about 42* and I found myself a little cold.
7:00 it started getting light good...in a bit...I hear something coming...then I catch something small feeding and I think it is a hog so I just sit
after a few more minutes I realize it is a yearling deer...I keep watching and then another come into view...head down the entire time.

I have been on a hiatus so to speak...I lost my hunting buddy about 3 years ago. I hunted nunce the year after he started hunting somewhere else....went once last year...and was afforded a covey rise at sunset....maybe him speaking to me if you are so inclined. I decided to go the last weekend of season here. I was on a 650 acre spread that on one side borders Chicasawhatchee WMA on another side is a Quail hunting preserve that was heavily affiliated with Quail Unlimited and a large plantation on other side. It is hard not to see a deer. In fact I saw 3 in the time frame of my short sit. They were both yearlings. It is a good feeling to be back in the saddle so to speak. Some of the biggest deer in the state come out of our surrounding counties...Worth in particular.

I did get another shot off that morning
