I am new to the area (2 years) and have still done my deer hunting in North Alabama. I would like to hunt somewhere closer, to Navarre. Is the Escambia River Management area worth trying?

I have hunted Blackwater WMA for the last 6 years and although you are limited on what you can shoot (5 inch antler on at least one side), you do see deer and learn to understand them. If you can sit on the ground against a tree and have a doe walk to within 4 ft of you, then you know you are doing something right. I have only taken a few out of there but I am in the woods enjoying my time with nature. What more can I ask for? I could be at work instead!

    Thanks Shaggy,
That sounds good. All I really want is to get out in the woods a bit closer to home. I normally fill up the freezer on my trips to Alabama. I appreciate the heads up.
