I picked up this SBR upper a while back, to run on my Billet SBR lower.

It is a Ranier Arms UltraMatch Billet upper, with a 10.5" Stainless Ranier Arms UltraMatch barrel, Daniel Defense 10.0 Lite hand guard, BCM BCG, BCM gunfighter charging handle, and I mounted an Aimpoint T1 in a Larue mount on it. The upper came to me with a 51T AAC mount on it that I intended to screw my M4-2000 on to, and shoot it suppressed. Only problem was, the .5" different between the barrel and rail didn't provide enough clearance for the suppressor, so it would not fully engage the mount... Bummer.

It has been sitting in the safe for months unfired, but in anticipation of the upcoming silencer shoot, I figured that I had better take it out in the shop and make it work.

I was a little bit apprehensive about going at the DD rail with a drill, but I figured what the hell. I started off by removing the rail system from the upper and boring out the center with a 2" step bit, I then removed additional material by hand with a file and tapered the 4 rails of the quad rail with my 1" belt sander until the silencer cleared. I think that it turned out really nice and most importantly I can now mount the can :D.

I would like to attend the silencer shoot that is this Saturday? I am a deputy and I have shot several full autos but I have never had the chance to shoot a rifle with a silencer to experience how well they work. If I am able to attend please let me know the information about where and when to go along with the cost and of course I will bring plenty of my own ammo.

Just do like we used to.... Electrical tape, toilet paper, a plastic coke bottle, and you are T-8 pal... Sam, Nate is running the suppressor shoot and I think they have got all they want attending so quit pulling the deputy card and trying to badge your way in:wacko: besides your toy buying days are over I got your text the other day saying that the wife is :preggers:...LOL
But seriously the shoot is in Jay at a former deputy that retired shortly before you came around. Get with Nate and he might can make it happen..... Be warned that cans are addicting and expensive....

Jeremy, you should go to so I can ride with you in that sweet jeep. Do you have a silencer?

No silencer... I've shot them and I like them... Shot mp5 9mm, and ruger markII .22..... I don't change up my weapons... Just grab and go. It would cost me a fortune in tax stamps alone for all the suppressors I would have to buy..... I'm not going anywhere that shoot. My wife would kill me.....

Sam, if you aren't able to make the shoot I'd be happy to let you give mine a try. I have the 556/223 suppressor, and an 22LR suppressor and a couple few hosts for each.
