first off i have never owned an AR but just picked up an AR 10. i bought the gun because my wife gave me the pass and never looked back. i will use it for mostly hog hunting and some just shooting. what kind of scope do i need? maybe acog red dot or do i need magnification? suggestions.

on an AR10, probably a variable power quick acquisition setup. Something that will get down to a true 1x power, maybe up to a 4x power. 308 will reach out and touch someone, but usually hog hunting is more close quarter type shooting...or am I wrong?

I had an ACOG TA33R-9 on my AR-10. It eliminated a few hogs... I moved it over to my FN FAL when I sold the AR-10.
