    Alternatively, you can buy a Kit to make a Chamber casting, then measure the casting and compare it to cartridge specs.

    If it is in 45-70 I would expect the bore to be .45 caliber that is distinctly larger than 8mm. Distinguishing between 8x50R vs 8x52R. Might be possible with calipers

    Thanks to all! I have finally gotten an appointment with a certified gunsmith here in Jacksonville, FLA. Superior Gunsmith. I am dropping off all 3 rifles this Friday. Along with my Antonio Zoli O/U 3" mag shot gun. As soon as I get them back along with all the info I will be lisi\ting them for sale. As for my old H7R 38's and S&W 38 I'll be listing them soon as well.
