The front sight came off a blackhawk i have and was wondering how to get it back on. Its supposed to be silver soldered on but someone had "fixed" it with some jb weld. Im surprised it held on as long as it did like that. How can i get it back on? Can i just solder it on like soldering anything else? Im gonna get it duracoated or something anyways so messing up the finish isnt a problem.

Nope. Its got a little tit on the bottom of the sight that goes in a hole in the barrel.

    Damn. Is that a 357 or 44?
If I recall correctly (from a tv show "how it's made") silver solder is harder and has a higher melting point. I'm not sure what difference it would make on a sight?

Just be careful when putting heat to that barrel you can make the barrel too soft or excessively brittle. I would suggest letting a good smith solder it back on for you.

That guy in downtown Milton seems to be a good guy.
