The fast (2850fps) heavys will definately promote bbl life. I might "play" at 600yds and will obtain bullets to do just that. The "proper" range that I have access to only goes out to 300 as of now. There are others that can go out farther if needed. Or can shoot where I hunt if need be. Really do not want to though.
There will be more new chamberings coming out in the next few years. That will drive the need for bullets of heavier weights,IMO. At this point, probably will not help me,but will be good for shooters and reloaders in general. ---- SAWMAN

Well I just changed my barrel on my ruger precision to 6BR. I can't wait to take her out and see what she can do. Ordered it from Patriot Valley. Coming tomorrow.

Barrel wear or throat erosion is created by pressure. Unfortunately velocity is also created by pressure. The bearing surface is different on all Bullets. The driving band on the 105 hybrid and the 109 are the same just more bullet on the front half.

    Great . . . only . . . added to my cart . . . but can't find any way to "check out". --- SAWMAN
ADDED: Think that I figured out how to complete the order. It took my credit card and gave me an order # so we will see.
The ADG brand for the 6.5PRC is by far, better than Hornady OR Nosler and as good as Bertram. However the last two are unobtainable. I would hate to have to buy Hornady factory loads just to get the brass.
Much thanks sir, for the heads up on this brass. --- SAWMAN

Here is a compairason between a 300RCM and a 308Win. The 6.5PRC is simply a necked down (from .308" to .264") 300RCM (Ruger Compact Magnum).
    About the same upgrade in performance between a 6.5Creedmoor to 6.5PRC . . and a . . 308Win to 300Win Mag.
The powder capacity is about the same as a 6.5- 284 and a 6.5-06. In fact, some of the same reloading data applies.
If this gun and chambering works out for me,I WILL be selling all my 308Win guns and reloading stuff. ---- SAWMAN

Southern Tactical, a day pass gets you on the 300 yd range. Not sure about their 600 & 1000 yd ranges, other that maybe being a guest of a member,, but don't think you want to brave the 90*+ & 90 % humidity again

Yeah I'm gonna miss CO for that only reason. We have a place called Cheyenne Mountain Shooting complex here, literally outside of one of the gates here on fort carson that goes to 1k yards. It's actually run by the fort carson MWR and is a public range. Its 8.50 a day for vets/LE/fire/ems and active duty to shoot all day. It's only 11.50 for civilians. I will miss that. Where else can you drive 5 minutes and shoot to 1080yds.

Was at the 300yd range about 3 weeks ago. Was shooting my 300BLK RARR and my 28" 22-250.
It was amazing how accurate the RARR was with the Zeiss 7X.
You can bring Ken over and let him show off. ---- SAWMAN

Got my dies and shell holder in today. It is a bushing type die with a micrometer bullet seater and a elliptical type floating mouth expander.
I have three different sized neck bushings coming from Brownell's. This,so I can expierament with neck tensions.
It also came with two different seater plugs. One for the more "normal" ogives and one for the extremely pointed ogives such as the ELD Hornady's and the Burger's. --- SAWMAN

My ADG brass is on the way. Will arrive tomorrow. Then start reloading. Should be interesting.
I measured the factory mag for COAL acceptance. Looks like at least 2.948". This, depending on the gun's chamber and throat. --- SAWMAN

I have the hells canyon long range 6.5 creedmore. I have been debating about selling it and picking up a christensen with the carbon fiber barrel.

They had a beautiful Christensen Arms bolt gun down at Mike's several weeks ago. I looked at it,fingered it,shouldered it,talked to it,but left without it. Can't remember the chambering but do remember how perfectly ballenced it felt with it's long, large diameter bbl. PERFECT !!
