Got this recently. LWRC M61C. 16" spiral fluted bbl. AMBI mag release, safety, bolt catch. Propriatary LWRC small(ish) stock. Super trigger.
Got this gun for approx. half price but you gotta know somebody of influence.
LWRC and I go waaaay back (early '99). I still refer to them as "LAND WARFARE RIFLE COMPANY".
They were in the middle of developeing a AR large bore ( the .499 Leitner/Weiss) about the same time as Bill Alexander came out with the 50Beowulf. The two are essentially the same cartridge.
The US was looking for a weapon to be used by the USCG for boarding potentially hostile ships with non compliant crews,a.k.a. drug boats. This concept never came about.
Always wanted a LWRC but always "made do". Finally - - -> got one. A "don't touch my gun" . . . gun. --- SAWMAN

Installed a Precission Armament M4-72 brake on my LWRC.
This brake has to be indexed/clocked to the 12:00 o'clock position without a crush washer so had to take an extremely small amount off the back of the brake so it would further spin from 11:55 to 12:00.
Used 220grit sand paper on a flat surface. Just rubbed the brake on it.
Finally it indexed perfectly. ---- SAWMAN

There IS an easy way to clock brake with upper and/or forearm also, but my "consulting " fees start at $65. per hour. Brake looks good and comes pretty close to matching OD of muzzle. ---- SAWMAN

Now that's a fluted barrel!! They make some beautiful products. I'm sure you'll keep us up to date on how it shoots. Looking forward to some tight groups.

SO FAR - -> the best groups have come with the Lehigh Defense 62gr. Controlled Chaos.
These bullets will expand reliability between 1400 and 4200fps.
I have these going pretty fast. Still doing some seating depth and neck tension experiments. However this will be my bullet of choice IF ACCURATE and responds to speed well.
Using the Lehigh Defense load of A2230 but a little over book max. (3000fps+)
The gun wears a Burris RT-6. --- SAWMAN
