Excellent. I "killed" one about 10pm last night, but as I was watching the other hogs run away, the "dead" one got up and ran off. Gonna look more this morning for it.

Nice! Is that two scopes mounted on your rig?

It's my StalkTech laser designator. Unlike green kill lights, it's focus goes from a wide circle that's got no flood effect, just a huge laser pointer beam (40' @100yds) down to pencil eraser size. Uses your existing scope (3x9x40 pro staff here) .. I can read boat registrations at night across my bay at 325yds ... I used the tightest setting and put it threw both lungs ... Dropped - way better than laser genetics Nd3

Woke up EARLY, fell back asleep by accident on the couch and woke at 5:15. Jumped in the truck and raced to the lease. I had a feeling I may walk up on them so I grabbed my shooting sticks and stalked quietly towards my stand. I came upon a massive boar and this pig, dropped to a knee, turn on my laser designator and put a 110gr SSA Pro Hunter(6.8SPC) through both lungs. She dropped instantly, finished her with my XDS 45 to head. I'm going to smoke the whole pig in a few days after soaking on ice with vinegar.
Shortest hunt ever, wasn't in the field more than 10 minutes from parking truck to pulling away with swine. Enjoying a Bloody Mary and good breakfast. Pretty nice exit hole too.

Great kill, why sell 6.8??? just wondering

Thanks. I bought these two beauties below in the last few months (.308) and are all I'll need for anything on four feet, or two. IDK, I may keep it for my girls, don't need to sell it but we shall see.

Great kill, why vinegar in water for soaking and what ratio do you use.

Thank you. Vinegar will take out any gamey flavor and helps bleed the meat. This female was only 6months old or so and won't have any off putting flavor but the BIG ole boars can be pretty nasty if you don't soak them for 3-5+days. I use 1 cup white vinegar. If the meat turns blue/purple you used too much, won't taste different but the color is off. 1/2-1 cup lemon juice or some apple juice also works in addition to it. Change water every day and add new ice and vinegar.

If you ever shoot one about this size and want to save the whole pig for later, you can also put it inside a container like the one below, put in freezer then run garden hose and fill it up, completely covering pig. It's one hell of a hogsicle but will keep for 6 months.

Kept the piggie on ICE for a week. did a sample of meat and its game free and tender as a 19yo. Have a butt in the crockpot now for pork and sauerkraut tonight(German/Italian heritage) it's Germans version of black eyed peas on New Years Day-all the bones are in pressure cooker making stock and here's the rest. Hog yielded 25lbs of meat. Yum! My girls can name each part too although they say 'tenderloin' like a Chinese lady.
