I have shaved 0.016" off of standard milspec 5.56 firing pins to match the protrusion of an enhanced firing pin for ARs in 7.62x39. worked perfectly fine.

Take it off of the leading edge of the shoulder.
I've had just enough beer to give it a try. I seen on Youtube where a couple of guys did it and it worked. I have 3 firing pins so I got 2 back ups.

If you have access to a lathe it makes it easy. I have done it with a drill press and file before have a lathe. Front of firing pin in the chuck and work the file forward and back without cutting into the body of the pin. Finish off with 220 sand paper to smooth out and make cleaning easier.

I finally got around to digging this rifle back out and working on it. Even after shaving the firing pin it didn't like steel ammo. Light primer strike on every other round. It did chew through the brass ammo like a fat kid through cake. I set the red dot in and enjoyed firing it. Man it is loud with that 10.5'' barrel but surprisingly accurate.

Heavier hammer spring may solve steel case problem. Can you measure protrusion of firing pin thru carrier? Calipers with depth guage works.
    Picture of light primer strike?

If you look on page 2, I posted photos of the primer strikes. One of the first things I did was change the firing pin and add a stiffer hammer spring designed to correct this problem.

Leaving from Mary Esther going to Crestview. If you are anywhere near I can drop one off for steel cased and take a few measurements on your FP.

Thanks buddy but i'm in Milton. I have tried 2 different firing pins that are designed to fix this problem with no luck.

Might want to try inserting one of the spent brass ones in the chamber to see if it still drops in..... hopefully no headspace issue
    100% That's where I'd be next.

I didn't think about that. I left all the spent brass at the camp. I will get the calipers out this afternoon and check.

Well I'll be damned, that hammer spring came in today, I went out and installed it and shot 5 Tula rounds of steel ammo, some that already had deep primer strikes and it cycled all 5 times. I'm happy now. I have a lot of Wolf and Tula ammo. I love this AK pistol on the AR platform now that it's shooting steel ammo!!
