Mexico was confident that the lawsuit would not spark a diplomatic spat with Washington because it does not target the US government and the complaint has a "legal and moral" basis...
No, it won't spark a diplomatic spat because they have an anti-gun ally in the White House.

Even if they don't win here the legal fees for defending against it will probably raise the cost of firearms.

It's a political charade. Coming right off the heels of the Remington fiasco. It's thier next method of running gun makers out of business. It's why they're so eager to outlaw polymer 80's now, ahead of the future lawsuits. It's so when they do bankrupt the gun makers, no one can then have the idea to simply make thier own guns. Most folks don't care about the 80 percent bans. But they will soon

Nevermind the fact that narcos can buy full auto carbines for cheaper than they can get our semiauto crap. Oh, and nevermind how our Vietnam M16's got left behind in Southeast Asia and somehow resurfaced in the drug war south of our border. Nah, nothing to see here... Mexico is looking to settle out of court after making a name for itself, that's all. And yes, the Mexicans probably did this with back channel communication full blessings from the Kamala administration. Mexico should be sueing America in an international court, if anything, for not shutting down the border, full stop, nothing in or out, including guns/drugs/illegals/blue penis pills. Full stop on everything

This past year our government said that only HALF of the illegal immigrants that our Border Patrol caught are actually Mexican. Governments own numbers! How do you think the other half that aren't from Mexico even got to our border to be able to cross it? Cartels. The cartels run the show. Government hates competition, and Mexican government is no exception. Anybody that has ever been to Mexico is more afraid of the cartels than the government. Fear is power. Fear is control. Cartels are in control of Mexico. No amount of American gun control is going to stop multi billionaire cartels from buying guns. What a wasted effort

At the very least the administration probably pointed them in the right direction...

Would it surprise you to learn that one of the lead attorneys on the case is none other than Jonathan Lowy of the Brady Center? Of course it wouldn’t.

The Mexican government is being represented by lawyers from Hilliard Shadowen, a Texas law firm specializing in class-action lawsuits, and by Jonathan Lowy, chief counsel for the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, the gun control organization.

Mexico as all about money and favors. Find the right person, agree on terms, and this will go away, but you'll owe something in return.

Who would even enforce this claim? Mexico can sue all day, but what if we say no one cares Mexico. What am I missing here? We are in The US and they are in Mexico. Mexico has no rights here. I feel like this is just something to talk about on the news but in reality it’s not possible to be successful because we can just say nah we aren’t interested

Conveniently SIG was not on the list of defendants in Mexico's lawsuit.

Nice. At the rate that Mexican government forces are blackmailed and defect to the cartels side, the people's side, the freedom fighters side, and also just plain sold for cash because it beats the hell out of selling seashells by the seashore, there'll be brand new Sigs shooting back at their former government owners real freaking quick after that passes

Article says the $5,500,000 dollar arms package will be going to the Mexican Navy and Mexican Naval Infantry. Interesting how our Pentagon got our US Marines to shelve all their tanks and get back to focusing on amphibious warfare, within a year or two of the Mexican Naval Infantry getting all new crap too

We need to sue Mexico in return, for allowing all these illegals passage to invade our country. The difference being, we need to sue them for at least 100 times more money, as they have done way more damage here.

Americans shot the shit out of Mexico City once before already. Guess they forgot about that. The US Marine Corps hasn't forgot. We won that one, but after losing like 90% of our officers and noncoms. Wars have been started over less money than what Mexico is sueing for... Mexico doesn't realize the military/industrial complex runs Washington, and they just kicked the hornets nest

    A welcomed development.

A U.S. judge on Friday dismissed Mexico's $10 billion lawsuit seeking to hold U.S. gun manufacturers responsible for facilitating the trafficking of a deadly flood of weapons across the U.S.-Mexico border to drug cartels.

Saylor said federal law "unequivocally" bars lawsuits seeking to hold gun manufacturers responsible when people use guns for their intended purpose. He said the law contained several narrow exceptions but none applied.
