As mentioned in my WTB ad a few days ago. I finally found a youth rifle for my 7 y/o son. I picked up a Savage Rascal with red stock from a local shop in Chipley. Well today was the day he's been waiting for. We got to go out and shoot *his* new rifle! He had the time of his life and probably shot close to 100 rounds today. Most of it through his little Savage and a couple mags through my new Ruger 10/22 and 15 rounds through my Henry lever action. He said the Henry was his favorite one of my guns, but his was still better! LoL We were mostly shooting CCI Quiets so didn't need ear protection for those. We did put them on for the HV stuff (CCI Blazer/Federal 550/Armscor). The Quiets out of the Savage are equal to my Crossman F4 nitro piston pellet rifle. Today was a great day and we have another little shooting enthusiast among us.

Looks like a great time!!! It's amazing how much fun a single shot can be. Did you try it?? How are the sights on it?
(Still needs an Alabama sticker on the stock though!) :)

I did shoot it a few times. Very accurate little rifle. I had no problem hitting a 2" steel spinner I had set out about 25 yards away. And yes, a single shot can bring hours of enjoyment. My first gun was an old Winchester 67A that I bought from an Uncle for $35 when I was 15. I would sit on the back porch and burn through a brick of 22s just about every Saturday for the first few months.

Looks like he will outgrow that thing fast. Too bad they are a riot.
Hell, I kinda want one of my own! I bought a set of scope mounts for it and plan on getting him a cheap micro red dot to put on it.
