Lil upper info

I have a M4 it has M4 feed ramps if I replace the upper do i need the feed ramps?
done research and from what i understand i can use a non feed ramp upper on a m4 where the barrel has feed ramp also
but cant use a feed ramped upper without the correct barrel
can someone confirm this?

not required. If the barrel has m4 feedramps it will work with or without m4 feedramps on the upper receiver. The only configuration that will not reliably work is using an upper with m4 feedramps with a barrel in which does not have m4 feedramps.
