What length do you make your leash on your fixed blade knives? Does it vary by blade length? Awaiting input.

I call them loops myself. But just long enough to grip the handle and make it tight when you do so imo. No more. No less. When it's the right length it feels like an extension of your body to me.

Mine are well behaved so they don’t need a leash.
I've had those little buggers suddenly turn to Gremlins, bounce off the deck, and plummet hundreds of feet from the aircraft into Davy Jones Locker. (although I wish that Remington Rand .45 1911 would have decided to make the same plunge! LOL)

Do Y'all give a longer leash to a knife that may need to see reverse action?

How about a leash with a cord stop?

Do Y'all place the cord stop before the end knot, or do Y'all use the cord stop to form the loop with the end knot to give the blade room to hang itself?
