I heard they problems with early models - stopped production to fix - which is why they are so hard to find with pent up demand - but now run properly. I cant confirm - just what I thought I understood.

Mike's Outdoors Sports on US 29 North of I10 in Pensacola. I guess they are about a mile or so North of I10 on the west side of the road. They also have the stainless for $799.00 or did earlier today.

Looks like I'm going to Mike's in the morning. Although they have kind of pissed me off here lately. Called today to see if they had some AR mags and they are selling RRA mags for 50 a pop. I know individuals are doing it, but I just believe that is bad business.

Wonder why everyone has problems with Kimbers? I must be the lucky fella every one I've owned runs flawlessly Hmmmm, I have had 1 CDp that didnt like Hollowpoints and i took some flitz and the dremel and hit the feed ramp..Then it was fine

I have yet to have a problem with kimber. I have read some horror stories but that comes with all guns. To each his own.

Famine, can't thank you enough. I've been looking for one and trying to resist the inflated prices on gunbroker. I just called Mike's and purchased one to ship to my FFL. Thanks again.

The Kimber SOLO has the external extractor. IMO stay away from ALL Kimbers with the external extractor. ESPECIALLY the <5" guns. --- SAWMAN

Just curious, why don't you like the external extractor? To me the value of the gun is it's 9mm cal in such a small frame for my ccw and it's smooth finish, (for easy pocket draw). Hopefully the earlier teething problems have been solved - I have one shipping to me now from Buds.

An instructor I work with in the area has one and its a jam o matic (same with his other 9mm Kimbers). For some goofy reason Kimber explicitly says to use only 124gr 9mm. Otherwise its a good design, if it worked.

Thanks. It's so strange that this particular gun is so sought after yet has a legacy of so many problems. I'll let ya know how mine shoots when it arrives.
