IM3300 Pelican Foam Alternatives

I need some suggestions on some foam alternatives for my pelican case. The foam inserts on pelicans website are like 150 bucks maybe more... for foam. Anyone have some alternatives they have used? I'm sure there is probably something decent at home depot I can get. Any help is appreciated.

I think magpul now makes a really nice modular Lego style alternative to put in cases. It may cost a little more but hey it isn't foam and you can change it to fit other guns in the future. From what I saw so far it's really neat.

I really haven’t found a cheap foam solution, so I’m interested to see if anyone else has. Pelican replacement foam is ridiculously priced. I’ve looked on Amazon for cheap generic foam and haven’t found anything worthwhile. Upholstery shops are a possibility, but it wasn’t cheap either at the shops I checked. Harbor freight has cheaper pelican case alternatives but they don’t sell replacement foam. I would bet that some businesses probably get some half decent foam from goods that are shipped to them, that just get thrown out…

It may take some digging, but there is some aftermarket stuff on eBay... keep in mind it may not be as dense as Pelican original, though some may be more dense. Some is solid, some cubed, but if you use the right search terms ("3300 foam", for example), you might find something.

I'll try to get some pics of my "el Cheapo" Precision .22 LR rifle case tomorrow, where I added some high-density inserts (leftover computer-packing material, stuff robbed out of custom Pelican OEM cases, etc.) to reinforce the original cubed foam : )

Check a good packing store. I bought sheets of the stuff cheap for carrying a bunch of electronics in a big bin. That store was in Baton Rouge.
