Stumbled onto this video on the youtube. Love them or hate them (I loved them), if you were of a certain era jungle boots were part of your time in the military.

if the link doesn't work look for "Why it took 57 years to replace jungle boots" on youtube

I wore some as a kid alot. One pair I had I recall was odd tho. One broke right in the arch and revealed it had a wooden shank instead of steel. They must have been some sort of knockoffs.

I wore them when I did my all expense paid Latin America tour... even though as air crew were were supposed to wear the issued all leather ie. very hot and unforgiving in a jungle environment! I always laughed at the "Do not boil insoles"

    I miss them.
I have plenty of more modern military boots but do miss these.
Anyone know of a good brand that still makes them?
Not cheap knock offs- but old style quality?

My "rich Uncle" gave me a few pairs of these boots. I would love to find a good pair. Loved these boots

Great boots. Wore out several pairs. I would dearly love a pair of 11s.

I wore the heck out of them when I was a kid. Dad was in Vietnam in ‘66. I don’t know if he brought them back or bought me new ones from clothing sales.

I remember when they were still avail at Clothing and Sales for 30 bucks.
Back in 1973 I was 18 and got a job during the summer working road construction. Dad got me a pair of leather combat boots at Clothing Sales for $15.
Several years later I asked him to get me another pair and they had gone up to $60.
