Hurlburt Security just told me that my Eglin DBIDS card will not allow me access to Hurlburt. Instead, I must visit the Hurlburt visitor center and they will issue me the same type card, but specifically for Hurlburt. It seems that a separate card is needed for each base to be visited. ...seems bizarre, but hey, it's the government.

Just FYI, I visited Hurlburt Field today. BX is having a 10% off sale on guns, and they said you can save even more with a Star Card (which I don't have).

To update regarding base access, my VA medical card entitled me to a Hurlburt-specific DBIDS card, but as opposed to Eglin's card, the Hurlburt one is good for only one year instead of two, and while the Eglin card allows my wife to accompany me without any other permission, my wife was given a temporary paper pass that must be renewed every 30 days. Overall, access to Hurlburt was easier than I expected.
