Saw this the other day and it works great. As a rule maggots for some reason don’t die very easily from insecticide and this time of the year maggots love the outside garbage can . Just boil water in a kettle and just pour it on them, problem solved. Doesn’t take much but works great.

Grandad told me about a guy in Baldwin County who made a ton of money in the ‘70’s. Not sure true or not but this is what he told.

The guy advertised “sure fire roach killer” “guaranteed” and a price and address.

He was selling two pieces of 2x4 with a note that said place roach here (between the boards) and slam together

I put moist left over garbage in a plastic bag that I get free. Everything you buy comes in some sort of plastic bag. I put the sealed plastic bag in the freezer and add to it during the week as needed. On pick up day I put the frozen bag out with everything else. No muss, no fuss, no smell, no maggots, no sun, no boiling water, easy peasy and all for free. You can thank me later.

But they make great "fit bate".

Kinda like the old joke about the newly wedded guy fishing instead of being with his new bride.
I'll skip the intro, but the end of it goes....
"Can't, she has Gonorrhea, ...... she has Pyorrhea". Then why'd you marry her? "Well, she has worms too, and I love fishing".

The key to not having maggots is to kill the flies that lay them. Buy a can of Alpine Fly Bait, and spray an "X" on the lid of your garbage can every time you take the can to the street. It'll be like Nagasaki around the can.

Not much, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn one time.

Last year, I caught me a mess of flounder on a hot summer day... being as how the trash ran the next day, I tossed the carcasses in the trash can instead of dumping them in the woods like I normally would. Long story short, I forgot to drag the can to the street, and a few days later, I had hundreds of flies on the can. I went to my truck, grabbed a can out and did the ole "X" method... about an our later there was a pile an inch deep dead around the can. It was impressive.
