Hey all..
I have an 11-87 and wanted to replace to deer sights with ghost rings.
How hard is this to do? or is there a smith near Cantonment that can do it?
Is the receiver drilled and taped? (1) If it is attached a base plate. You'll need a screw driver. If the current rear sight is in the path of sight, remove it. If not leave it attached. If it's not, drill and tap than see step (1). Ghost ring is an excellent sight choice to replace factory buck horn. IMO This mount is also an option to replace the rear sight if the receiver is not D&T, This method would require no gunsmithing. Take the original sight off and replace with this mount. If you want to go back to original, easily done.
So I'm looking to replace the front. and that rear site..
The Rear is basically garbage that I can move with my finger. the front less so.. The Red-dot is just a cheapo (think I got it with another gun I bought at some point.
