I just got back into shooting after a few years away and was a 1911 guy for many years when I was active in the sport. I decided to start shooting again after my identical twin brother passed last May.
After looking at what was currently available that I liked, I choose the HK VP9 pistols. So, I bought 2 full size and one SK (sub compact) models and I love the way they feel in my hand and they shoot great.
As with most of the stuff from Germany, the machining and fit is excellent and being they invented the striker fired pistol, I think they have the best out of the box trigger on the market.
The one downside to being back shooting is now I am addicted again, I miss going to the range and the gun shows with my brother who was very knowledgeable about various firearms.
But, I know he would want me to keep going and is laughing at me because I moved way from 1911’s.
