In the 19th century US troops under andrew jackson chased the Seminoles through the swamps and then there was the civil war. In the 17-18th centuries, border regions of spanish florida and english Georgia were a violent place with slaving raids supplying native americans to plantations in Georgia and a lot of other violent activities.
