Gunsmith to drill and tap a couple of holes.

I have a Ruger 44 carbine that I would like to install a Williams peep sight on. This requires drilling and tapping 2 holes on the side of the receiver. Is there anyone near Niceville that does this sort of work?

Seems like a simple job to me. I'm trying the new smith next to Ranger (an hour closer to me than oneshot). She says she has 15yrs experience. We'll see how it goes.

The gunsmith next to Ranger (Tiffany) was swamped and couldn't give me an estimate on when she might be able to do the work. After 5 wks I retrieved my rifle (no hard feelings). Anybody in the south end of Okaloosa that can do the job?

You're right of course but I was trying to avoid a long car ride. When I moved to Niceville 30yrs ago there were 2 smiths in town and Copeland out in Freeport. The Niceville smiths are gone and Copeland seems to be out of the smith business. Any good smiths in Crestview?

If I was you, I would call JJ and explain to him what you want done. He might be able to do it while you wait at his house. You did say it was a fairly simple job.
