What does socks on a rooster mean?
To say that the task at hand is "like putting socks on a rooster" says that it is a very daunting and nearly impossible feat (no pun intended). ...

True, it may be difficult to get socks on a rooster, but I want you to look at me and tell me the rooster in that picture doesn't look sexy!

Ask for high prices on GB, then watch guys bid it higher, then they ask if you have any more(at the inflated price) after the auction, then feel bad about them paying too much... or not.

Can we get a sub forum dedicated to this dead horse?

Maybe just a poll so we can stop rehashing the same shit every few years.

Running about $0.85 to $1.95 per round, sometimes more.

Depends on the make / year / etc. New manufacture being more expensive - older, imports from 3rd world countries, less.

Have you consider the fact that they could have bought all they wanted, at bargain basement prices less than a year ago ? But they didn’t, they didn’t prepare and now they want someone who did to share with them for free. Those folks will probably be much happier under a biden socialist type of government. That’s my opinion and nothing that’s been said changes my feelings on this matter.
Yes, I have considered it. No everybody has had years, decades or the budget to buy cheap and tack deep. Some folks only bought as they needed it like TP, paper towels, bleach and nobody was stocking up on N95 masks either. While new gun owners and new caliber owners hit bad timing. Buyers just want reasonable retail access and can't find it, so they look for alternatives none of which are expected to be free or cut rate prices. I'm not trying to change anyones position, I'm just providing overlooked/ignored issues and a potential solution that will occur sooner or later.

I respect much of what you post, but not everyone who is selling is stripping the shelves and 'denying' it to others.
I agree, at the bottom of #23 I stated: "The few that are offering ammo FROM THEIR OWN STOCKS are not the ones stripping the commercial supply channels. Make your market value profit, I have no problems with them. I hope they don't need to replace it down the road."

I also said back in #6 I didn't want to see this Thread turn into another "fair market value" stick poking pissing contest." Yet, here we are.

I can’t believe how some folks are price gouging right now, I just sold 5 boxes of Federal 300 win mag 180 grain ammo to a friend for $30 a box ($150 for all) since I no longer had the rifle. That’s what I had in it. I see people wanting twice that much now for the same ammo. I’m not that kind of a piranha or shark trying to get rich in these tough times, if I offended anybody then I’m sorry but it is getting ridiculous what some of these scalpers are doing with ammo sales, hope the vultures that are swooping in buying all the ammo up in bulk gets caught with their britches down and takes a big big loss in their supposedly investment to get rich off of us.
If you go to a gun show, prices on hand guns and ammo will make you ill. It was your ammo. If you are satisfied, that's what matters first. I think a lot of guys are being unfair with prices. They haven't had the stuff they're selling for years in most cases. They bought in quantity and are riding the backs of all the newbies buying guns and ammo. Some of these new folks don't do any research. They know ammo especially is tight. And, they'll pay anything to get it and not look back. But, in the long run, it's another reason prices stay high. Experts say at least another year. On hand guns, Glock as an example has 25,000 plus orders back logged. No end in sight. Supply and demand I guess.

A friend gave me 1000 primers. I offered him $50.00 and he said no he bought out a shop and probably only paid $3.00 for them

I don't care if I offend anyone who is trying to charge 50-100% over what you can order rounds for online. They know what they are doing, they can go get a decent market price, and it is frankly disgusting. As for businesses, Academy is the only chain that is keeping prices pre-pandemic that I have seen. Good on them.

I sold some ammunition, and everyone I sold it to , resold it for more than they paid me. I could care less one way or the other. But I’ll not sell one more round for less than the going price. Whiners will always whine ,when this passes they still won’t buy any ammo to stock pile. I’ve given young shooters ( children of my friends ) more than five thousand Rounds of 22 LR free of charge in the last 3 or 4 months. I’ll likely give them some more before this biden fueled shortage is over. But with that said I believe you gentleman should do as you please with your own supplies . At the current time , you are still free to do that. I’m afraid that will change sooner than most folks think.

I agree. Here's a few known goodies the dems have put into law to chew on in past years.
NYC....no handguns unless you have a ccp. Have to go thru police. Only 8800 applied for last year roughly. Most still in a drawer. 80$ fingerprint and 340$ for permit. $420
    Washington state....no private firearms transfers
    D.C......no handguns period
Senate is now at 50/50. Guess who tiebreaker is? Our wonderful V.P. Kamala Harris. So folks, think about supporting anyone who will jump in for us. You don't have to like their shoes, just their views on 2nd amendment. firearms and ownership.

Bass pro shop stores are also doing it. Deliveries are random thru the week. Just have to check several times a week and see if any came in. 250 round max. I bought 45acp for 59 cents a round. Winchester white box 100 count and 50. Academy here in n.ms. and w.tn. is mon and fri. Open at 9. Line starts at 7 to 7.30. Ammo never gets out of customer service. They had 9mm mon. But, it was steelcase. 16.00 a 50 box. I can't stand up for 1.5hrs. Plus. Too much on my back. Once was enough. And, I didn't get the 17hmr I hoped for.

Currently a "super majority of 60 Votes" are needed to pass llegislation in the Senate. Then there's the Filibuster thay can delay the vote and often the item will be withdrawn so the Senate can move on to other business. There have been 4(+-) rural dems that have voted against some gun control laws but I dont have a current nose count, Joe Manchin ie one of them. Two Rinos have voted in favor of gun control issues so it hard to tell if any will get by. I think the left would have success with seperate laws not a all or nothing attempt in the Senate.

If I’m not mistaken, Joe Manchin has co-sponsored a universal background check proposal in the past. I’m really skeptical that we’ll get past the next two years without at least the UBC.
There’s at least a couple of Rebubs that can’t be trusted (as you stated).
