The 123 SST may pass through. But it is not a sure thing. I have taken 4 deer with my CZ 527 18 inch carbine. Two bucks, no pass through. Two does, two pass through.

See plastic rod showing the path of the bullet on a 125 pound doe.

But all 4 were one shot one kill.

So far my Hornady 123gr SP loads have passed through on the 3 deer I've taken with them. Two were shoulder shots and one was a neck shot. I was quite surprised with the performance, good expansion from the damaged that they caused.

I don't believe personal defense ammo is designed to produce pass through wounds on game animals and it appears to have functioned as designed on the buck pictured.

It did work well. Way more damage than the tula 154gr sp. But the 154 zipped thru.
