I've gone in a ton, never walked out with anything though. I feel like he treats it as his gun collection and doesn't want to sell unless he gets top dollar. It's the same with fishing gear. There was a 10/0 on a busted rod that he wouldn't separate or drop the price on. Nice enough guy though.

I agree that Miles is a nice, honest guy. I started going in years ago and picked up a nice '03-A3 Springfield, and later on a J-frame S&W, but I rarely go in anymore. I'm rarely looking for something specific, and it's virtually impossible to see what he has available. And for me, standing in line, waiting to be called "next" does not make for good browsing time. YMMV

I haven't been there this year, but I used to stop there often. He had a MINT Mossin Negant (sp) (Finland?) That I was dying to get, but couldn't justify his asking price for a hundred year old bolt gun. Also regret not getting a ported titanium (!) 357 he had. Lots of variety for sure.

Wonderful things come in plastic baggies with the STAR logo in red...

As far as I can tell, never loaded, never fired. Pristine :)

    GEDC0013.JPG

Fires .45-ACP or .45-Super, with no changes.
I've also got a black one...which has been fired a fair amount...
folks hate to see this bad boy at a Bowling Pin match :D

Only issue I have now is finding more .45-Super ammo...argh.

I was in the south end of the county yesterday so decided to stop by Tradewinds since I haven’t been in a couple of years.
There was a sign on the door that said “One person inside at a time”.
I tried the door and it was locked.
I’ll try again in a couple of years.

He had that when I was there and there was half a dozen guys at that counter. You should have knocked! Civil disobedience in all its glory

I'm not defending him, but he's in the city of Mary Esther. They have made masks mandatory for all business, and there's no telling what else.

Wrong county and city he’s way across the county line in the Midway part of Santa Rosa county which I believe is unincorporated

I stopped by a few weeks ago and got met at the door... asked if he had a 43x, was told no and he went back inside... probably a reason why I've been there 3x in 10 years, and it's less than 5 miles from my house. Sigh.

I usually drive by there at least a couple times per week, but I very rarely ever stop...maybe 4-5 times in the 17.5 years I've lived in the area. Last time was probably 3-4 years ago. I never say never, but right now I can't think of a good reason for stopping in again...There are just too many easier places to browse and buy, both brick & mortar and online.

I got nothing but good things to say about Tradewinds. I've never had a bad experience there. I'm like a kid in a candy store there! I live on the complete opposite side of the county and I still find my way there before going to other places. I've been a customer since like 2007.

I live too close to not stop in and he’s always friendly. Maybe he’s not desperate for the income and takes a long lunch now and again, who knows? Can understand being frustrated too though.

He has a lot of things there. If you can not see it, ask. Miles is the ultimate business man for making deal that he profits from. I wanted a lower and did not know to much about ARs then. He took the lower off of a DPM he had in stock and sold it to me. I could not have purchased the parts more cheaply and assembled a complete lower. It now has a LaRue trigger and with time it will gain all sorts of enhancements.

Just knock, a guy will appear magically behind you, size you up, and let you in.
it's basically to run off the scuds...there's a lot of crack/meth-heads
off of America Avenue near there...keeps 'em from trying to bums rush.

The neighborhoods on an around America Avenue from what I’ve heard are meth-head & crack-head central for south Santa Rosa
A friend of my wife’s who moved there from Minnesota in the early 90’s and got the hell out of there ASAP once she realized how bad it was
