Besides the loss of the finger grooves, what's the difference between Gen 5 and 4? Which is better preferred? Personal experiences and opinions appreciated. TIA.

Edited to add: my question is G19 specific, if that matters.

The slide finish is different - that being said, I wish the tenifer finish was still around from the Gen 3 guns. Trigger is slightly different; I prefer the Gen 5 trigger over the Gen 4. Feels a bit smoother to me. I'm one of the weird ones that actually liked the finger grooves / they fit my hands pretty well so the loss of grooves is neither here nor there for me. The Gen 5s have a different barrel as well, haven't really looked into it much.

As far as which is better... they're both good. I'd buy whichever is cheaper. Can't really go wrong with Glocks, unless it's the new G44.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not a big Glock guy (not a hater either) but considered getting a G19 while the Blue Label program is available to vets. I was thinking Gen 4 (thought I'd read some negatives on Gen 5, and the finger grooves are ok for me, at least on the full-size ones I've fired) but the gentleman at Jimmy's said that any that might come in will be Gen 5.
