Just did a quick read through, a few things jump out:

    1) It requires a background check on all FTF sales if you post a firearm for sale, advertise for sale, or are near a gun show trying to sell. Obvious loophole is word of mouth sales.

    2) Makes it illegal for the AG to start a backdoor gun registration database with the new background checks. Obvious loophole is it does not prohibit the NSA, FBI, CIA, ect ... ect.... from doing it.

    3) Real grey area on transporting firearms as there is no mention of exemptions for CW holders and FED trumps State on transport.

    4) As with all Fed legislation it inserts or changes verbiage in other laws subsections. The only way to know the ramifications of that is to dig into each existing statute.

    5) Authorizes Doctors (and others) to become snitches for the Federal government.

    6) Starts into play the enforcement of the already passed but not yet enforced “Veteran's Disarmament Bill” (Google it)

It also authorizes several studies including one on sharing firearm build info and discussions which means they will go after that down the road.

And Reid announced tonight he is going to offer amendment's to this bill once it hits the Senate floor that could outlaw semi autos with “military characteristic's” and also one on magazine capacity.

Plus there are many other amendment's you won’t hear about till they are live on C-SPAN

Here is a link to this legislation in it’s entirety :

Well, the things that jump out to me:

They will attach compliance of the laws by the States on grants.

Frees everyone with any little authority to "determine" anyone 'mentally incapable' of owning a firearm and compells them to report them.

Encourages everyone to report any "mental defective" ....

Protects medical professionals from civil action for breaking the privacy of patient records.

Definitely going after veterans with PTSD

Half the bill is about the "Commission"- to determine the causes of mass killings.

Will make this internet site mostly defunct- any and all postings of firearms sales will be subject to BG checks, any talk of firearms builds will be illegal, etc.

The Feds blackmail States into compliance in all Legislation anymore. It’s been common since back when they went to the 55mph National speed limit.

When I was trying to make people aware of the Veterans Disarmament Bill and fighting against it the one thing I was trying to let people know is that the way it is written you don’t have to have ever been officially diagnosed with PTSD, they can retroactively add that to your record anytime they like and it makes all Veterans “Guilty until proven innocent”

The problem is any Fed legislation like this that has an appeals process in it, they simply defund the entities involved in that process so there is no way to actually appeal.
