FLIR One and Intelliscope?

Anyone using the FLIR One for the iPhone 5/5s and/or the Intelliscope mount?

Just want a little feedback before I "pull the trigger"...

I have a FLIR One but not the Intelliscope mount. My experience with the FLIR One is it has to be frequently recalibrated by moving a sliding switch on the very back of the phone adapter. Like every minute or so. Not sure how you would do that with the Intelliscope mount covering the switch. While it can see a few hundred yards at night, I can't really distinguish exactly what the heat spot is at that distance...could be a hog, a deer or another hunter. Maybe their app would help with that. Also, there are other color contrast schemes available on the FLIR One that help with distance viewing (black/white vs color). You lose temperature fidelity but gain distance. I'll charge up my FLIR and try one tomorrow night.

Here's a FLIR One video from my front yard I recorded last October with the color contrast. You see a 110 lb lab at 20 yards, a 5 lb Maltese at 2 yards and my footprints on concrete:

I tried the best mode for distance and its pretty much useless for night hunting. Here's a video of my lab running across my yard at 50 yards or so.

Maybe the app that Intelliscope offers will help but I doubt it. Bottom line is FLIR One is just a $350 FLIR.

They're down to $250 now...

They make for a good heating and AC guy tool to find leaks, for a hunter what I hear is all they are good for is maybe finding a dead or wounded animal...All depends on your use for the $250 toy(there is a reason the price went down).

I'm looking at this one now for work for HVAC, water leaks and insulation issues. It's an add on and not a case like the flir
