I carry one in my gun case and another is in my wife's Jeep.
Bruce has one also. We got them at a hog seminar that we went to.
Doctors tend NOT to test for this. ---- SAWMAN

Brucellosis is some nasty stuff...friend of mines wife that guides hog hunts got it from handling the meat he brought home. It is pretty much eradicated in cattle, hogs, and goats due to vaccines given to the domestic herd....there just isn't anybody running around injecting the feral heard...well...not with anything other than lead or copper pills

if you are handling wild hogs you should wear protective gear

She made numerous trips to the Dr. before they figured out they needed to check her for Brucellosis

Yerp, PPE is key when gutting & prepping raw meat.

Some dummies do that "Eat the raw heart" stupid man test...
occasionally it kills them. Wild Game should never be consumed
raw or undercooked. Get it to proper temp to kill the bad things...
or it might just kill you!!

Kind of like the raw oyster thing...why would anyone want to eat
something that looks like coughed up Covid phlegm is beyond me.
    Occasionaly someone dies from it.
Kinda stupid when you think about it. Grill that sucker with garlic.

I'm going to eat raw oysters...but I use rubber gloves when working with hogs. I lost the best hunting dog I ever owned to Brucellosis hunting wild hogs.

I bet James will shoot the eyes outta the first hog he shoots

Frank,he signed the waver and "hold harmless" agreement. Plus,at the time,he was a member of this forum. ACTUALLY . . a moderator. Good guy IMO,but as all mods do at some point,he was suddenly gone. --- SAWMAN
ADDED: He told me why but I promised not to tell.
