So just finished up a 2 day class fun time. But the biggest portion was the accidental medical practical we got to do. Female officer from tallahasee did full 10 hrs training, pulled full shift immediate after then came out for the live fire portion . We were finishing up course of fire for first part and she shoots herself in leg. Luckily it only took the chunk of her leg right at the holster end and there were multiple med packs/ tourniquet( applied due to not seeing an exit wound and blood flow rate).

Now mitigating circumstances she worked a full shift last night due to the owner of the company she works for after a full 10 hr run and gun training day yesterday. So I get being tired. But that only goes so far.

My cousin shot himself in the leg while putting a DA/SA 9mm in his pocket. Trying to sneak it into his pocket while on the firing line at Santa Rosa Shooting Center... then realized halfway thru that the hammer was cocked... then tried to ride the hammer down with it in his pocket... not good. He tried to walk it off and pack up and jet out of there unnoticed but the shooter next to him saw and heard everything and took over. Thank God. One more reason to avoid public ranges and to avoid mass gatherings of people in general
