Well I finally made it out to east tx near Tyler with a buddy to hunt on his ranch. Managed to get a 3 pt and coyote in one sit last Sunday night. I was able to make a running shot on the coyote and dropped her. That made me pretty happy and then I shot the 3 pt an hr or so later for the freezer because I was worried I wasn't going to see something better as it was my second to last sit of the trip. Then the last morning, while I was watching a spike in front of me, I hear a grunt and out of the thicket walks this 10 pt. I grunted to stop him and shot him at 60 yds. He ran about 40 yds and I was able to see him crash. It was probably the most exciting hunt of my life so far. It was my biggest buck by far as my previous best was only a 4 pt. Everything was shot with my baby, a Winchester M70 .270. The buck scored 99 2/8...I was hoping for 100+ but I'm happy with him and he's getting a shoulder mount none the less. Hope you guys enjoy the pics!

Great hunt there. Nice deer and a yote. Great going. Some that I know will not shoot a yote while deer hunting. SHAME on them. Then they whine about too many yotes. Down here, hog hunting,I will kill every coyote that I encounter. --- SAWMAN

Yeah my buddy's dad thanked me for shooting him because a lot of people he lets hunt tell him they saw a yote but didn't shoot because they thought it would ruin their deer hunt. That 3 pt walked within 20 yards of the dead yote not 45 mins after I killed it. It obviously didn't mess up my hunt that night! I for one was happy to put down the yote. I might even tan it's pelt as it was nice a fluffy. we'll see.

Sme here. I've killed hogs on a plot and had deer walk up and smell them withih 15 or 20 minutes after I shot them, Same with coyotes on a plot.

Some "in the know" hunters......are not. --- SAWMAN

Great hunt you had , congrats.
sucks when the yotes are at your feeder so I shoot everyone I see and have a gun and light permit [ even though I use no light ] to hunt them during the off season. just PVS7's and an NV / EOTech gets it done
    good practice for home defense

Yeah I'm hoping to find out I can hunt them near my house here in FL...had one cross the road in front of me less than 50 yds from my house in Holley by the Sea last week!
