I find Glocks to be like coffee or beer. Acquired taste... but once you've acquired it, it's hard to let go. They just work.

Yea I have never looked at my glocks like I do a Smith & Wesson model 19-2 or a Ruger GP-100 or a Wilson Combat, they are not pretty guns, they are a save your life gun IN THE WORST CONDITIONS !

Jumped off the Glock train after I found out that pretty much everything
works just as well as a Glock...and they all have better grips.
Try a Tanfoglio Witness and you'll literally never look back...

I've been Glockless since 2018 when I sold my G20SF.
Won't ever own another Glock unless I fish one up with
my underwater magnet...and even then it'll get rehabbed & sold! :)

You like star do you. The best known stars were these
    1609820063682.png

There were 8 changes made to the basic pistol designs to make them Super models.

    1. addition of a loaded chamber indicator
    2. addition of a full magazine indicator in the magazine
    3. sights were changed by the addition of white inlay to improve target acquisition in low light
    4. recoil spring was made captive on the spring guide
    5. swinging barrel link (M1911 style) was replaced with a cam system (Browning Hi-Power style)
    6. addition of a quick takedown lever to the right side
    7. magazine safety was changed
    8. trigger system was changed

In 1946 the Super M was debuted in 9mm Largo and 38 Super, soon the Modelo A (9mm Largo) underwent 'Superization' to become the Super A. Later that year the Modelo C (9mm Browning Long) was 'Superized as well, but was only produced in limited trial quantities. The Modelo B (9mm Luger) was also modified in this year to become the Super B. The year 1948 saw the addition of the Modelos SI (.32 ACP), and S (.380 ACP, 22 ozs.). In 1950 the Modelo D (.380 ACP, smaller than a Super S) was modified, in 1958 the Modelo P (.45 ACP) and finally in 1971 the Modelo SM (.380 ACP with adjustable rear sight) was modified. Production of all Super Models continued until 1983, except for the Super C (1946 only), Super D (1950 only) and Super P (1958 only).

Oh, believe me, I’ve run the gauntlet trying to find the right one for me. Sig, HK, Beretta, S&W, CZ, several 1911s, FN... haven’t tried a Tangfolio but from what I understand they’re basically CZs.

They all do work, but the Glocks work the best for me.

I don't understand anyone not liking something that works as great as a Glock. I don't think Glock has had a recall since the Gen 2. They've changed but only for the better. I picked one up in the '80's and haven't looked back. Up 'till than 1911's were the one's for me. But I love Glocks, cosmetics not with standing. Can't compare the looks of a good looking 1911 to a Glock.

In it's simplest terms - - -> if I am ever invited to a civilian type of gun fight, the last person that I want to pick on my dance card would be the guy that has owned a Glock for 10 years and has put 3-5K rds thru it in practice or in real world training.
And his Glock has all OEM parts installed. It would be the " one man and his gun" sorta thing. --- SAWMAN

Exactly, I throw up at the thought of dependability, just like an AKM... makes me throw up, into the rifle, and it still fires flawless...sickening..

A Glock may not be the handgun for you if:
    a. You care more about appearance than reliability.
    b. You require a manual safety due to poor handgun handling skills
    c. You can't comprehend and follow instructions for Safe disassembly of a handgun.
    d. You prefer an alternate grip angle over reliability.
    e. You prefer an alternate frame over capacity.
    f. You prefer the additional weight of metal frames to help your recoil sensitivity.
    g. You prefer a an Import over Made in the U.S.A.
    h. You prefer a product from a company that that has backstabbed 2A Rights or Civ ownership.
    I. You prefer your clone tupperware from companies that copied Glock.
    J. You prefer not to drink, no matter how many times you've been led to water.

Sarcasm and MHO, it won't win hearts or minds; carry what you trust. I've carried a bunch of different brands as primaries and BUGS by choice. I've had duty firearms that would not be my choice but I learned, adapted and trusted them. Some folks still choose .25/32APC and thats fine for them, I just don't want my partner so armed.

When me and a buddy went to NOLA prior to Katrina we had out pick of most any weapon.
After the most complete briefing by the buisness owner (our old friend) I picked my Glock 19 Gen III and my Benelli M1 Super 90. I borrowed a 14" bbl for it from my buddy.
He had a Glock 17 and a Rem 870 with a "short" bbl.
Our objective was to guard the second floor of a building made of reinforced concrete. It had no access except for a inside stairwell. We were briefed that we would encounter looters but "really watch out for the cops". This proved to be true. We came fairly close to having a shootout with the NOPD that demanded entry for no good reason at all. ---- SAWMAN
