Figured I’d post this for you guys, it was an easy DIY that I did. I wanted a decent quality qd Harris bipod adapter, I like shooting from a bipod sometimes, but I don’t like leaving the bipod attached all the time. I tried a few cheap Chinese qd mounts but they sucked. A few quality companies like Larue make qd bipod adapters, but they are expensive. And if you are like me, you probably have some extra QD optics or surefire

    mounts in your parts bin.
For this mount, I used an old ADM Aimpoint t1/t2 footprint low mount, that I had laying around, that I’d probably never use on an optic again. I removed the swivel tensioner from the bipod, saving weight and bulk. Drilled holes in the bipod base to match the pattern of my ADM t1 mount, threw some screws, lock washers, and nuts on it. It works perfectly!
In the future, I’d recommend using a drill press instead of just a hand drill, but it was easy enough with a hand drill. And I’ll probably replace the cheap screws with some grade 8 screws, but I didn’t have any grade 8 screws laying around when I put this one together.
If you have an extra qd lever mount laying around, this is a cool way to save money on a qd bipod. And it saves weight and mass over other mounts that use the Harris hardware. And if you want to use or sell the your qd optics mount later, it can be removed and reused, since no modifications were made to the actual mount.
